Threshold Coaching
Regular conversation over months, for a person standing in the middle of something that has not finished.
An hour where nothing has to be resolved
We meet regularly and we talk. That is genuinely most of it. What makes it different from talking to a thoughtful friend is that I am not waiting for you to get to the point, I am not managing my own discomfort at your uncertainty, and I am not going to help you tidy the thing away before it has said what it came to say.
Over months, a pattern usually becomes visible that neither of us could have named at the start. Not because I found it, and not because you worked hard enough. Because it was given room and time, and those turn out to be the two conditions it needed.
I don't set homework. I don't track progress against anything. If a session ends with you less certain than you began, that is often the session doing its job.
- A structure that held your life has loosened, and you can't yet say what replaces it
- You keep encountering the same blockage from different directions
- People keep asking when you'll be past this, and you have stopped knowing how to answer
- You've done the goal-setting version of this and it didn't reach whatever this is
Three things, plainly
Time
months, not weeksThresholds do not run on quarters. If you need this handled by a date, I am the wrong choice and I would rather say that now than take your money.
Honesty
including the unflattering partsNot confession, and not performance. Just a willingness to say the true version rather than the presentable one, at whatever pace that becomes possible.
Tolerance
for not knowing yetThe hardest one. Some of what you bring will stay unresolved for a long while. Staying in the room with that, without forcing a conclusion, is most of the practice.
How it runs
For now: write, and tell me roughly where you are. I'll reply with what meeting actually looks like, what it costs, and when I have room. There is no obligation attached to asking, and I would rather have one honest exchange than sell you something that doesn't fit.
Begin a conversation
Tell me where you are in a few sentences. If this isn't the right container, a walk or a gathering might be — or someone else entirely, and I'll say so.
